One of the first things that our bride told us was that she has a beautiful Sabyasachi bridal saree and that we have to cover it well. And we took to our task seriously and have her sabyasachi wedding dress covered well in photos as well as in video, in this hindu beach wedding in Chennai.
The bride was so enamored by her Sabyasachi that she wanted us to cover her Sabyasachi well. Upon her specific request, we had her special Sabyasachi wedding dress reveal captured in video, which was used as part of her wedding film.
When you are looking to conduct your hindu beach wedding in one of the best wedding resorts in Chennai, you will probably not want to discount Taj Fisherman’s Cove, one of the oldest resorts in Chennai, with close proximity to the beach and the sea.
The Taj Fisherman’s Cove is a beautifully landscaped property, where you can choose the cottages by the beach, if you wish to leisure in style, or the more economical rooms facing the garden and the beach attached to main edifice.
The Machan by the beachside across the lavish swimming pool is good for small events, while the new beach lawn by the beach could be hosting a larger number of guests, of up to 2500 guests, for wedding and reception. The casuarina grove is outdoors and has a stage and the casuarina banquet hall beside it, a pillarless hall, with 4 entrances, good for up to 300 guessts, suitable for intimate events related to the wedding.
Tango is another small hall at the Taj Fish Cove, suitable for small events like Mehndi, Haldi, where it can support up to 200 guests.
What we found is that if possible, it is ideal to book the entire property, especially if you do not want many restrictions on account of not being a disturbance to other guests.
Our Taj Fisherman’s Cove wedding was a morning affair, beginning with the couple photoshoot. With the previous night celebrations going on late, it was a sedate start to the morning session of the couple photo shoot.
As with most weddings that we covered, the photo shoot session was restrained due to time constraints. But, we did what we could and got a handful of beautiful couple photos.
After the photoshoot, it was directly the exchange of garlands and the oonjal thereafter. The oonjal ceremony of the beach wedding at this unique wedding resort in Chennai, happened at the Machan area lawn. This quaint little event was followed by the breakfast session for the famished couple.
After the breakfast, it was time for the bride to get herself into her favourite wedding dress. It was her favourite Sabyasachi bridal saree, from the Sabyasachi saree collection. After her make up and donning her special sari, our Sabyasachi bride glided on to the new beach lawn area, in her buggy.
There she exchanged garlands and the pheras began.
A little while earlier, the groom’s baraat began atop his godi. The procession culminated at the new beach lawn and then the wait for the bride began. When the bride arrived, the couple made their entry on to the pheras stage, where the anxious pujari began the rituals.
And so the beautiful beach wedding of our beautiful made for each other couple, came to a sweet end. An elaborate lunch after the pheras was arranged at the Casuarina hall for the wedding party.
As the day neared its end, the bride and groom drove away in their decorated car, but not before the couple were captured in style in many poses; especially the bride in her Sabyasachi, which made her grand wedding day even grander.
And thus, came the curtains down as the Sun took its leave and the Atlhea wedding crew, went on its way to cover another event, in one of the busiest muhurthams of the season. Hope you enjoy these photos from this beach wedding around Chennai, at the Taj Fisherman’s Cove, Covelong beach, Kovalam.
.Trivia.
Btw, did you know that the Fisherman’s Cove was built on the ramparts of an old dutch fort?
So, are you planning your beach wedding at the Taj Fisherman’s Cove? A good decision it would be as this is one of the best beach wedding resorts in Chennai. Are you planning a Sabyasachi too :-).
